AFTER DINNER, ABORTION

Story by:  Marcia Nalebuff
Recorded:  July 2014 and April 2022, New York, NY
Music:  Bo Moonlight

It was 1959, and Marcia Nalebuff saw no way out. She was vehemently opposed to having another child. To get a legal abortion, she would have to go before a battery of doctors and be declared physically and emotionally unfit to have another child. So she and her husband Edward turned to the only person they could trust, an OB-GYN friend who agreed to do the procedure in secret. But in order to make it work, they would need to concoct an elaborate ruse.
