A sound-infused portrait of life on a small island on Lake Champlain, where ten exhausted city-dwellers convene for a week, seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.

HOW IT HAPPENED

I don't know what possessed me to bring my recording equipment to Garden Island. This was meant to be a vacation for my wife and me, along with some friends of ours. The experience turned out to be equal parts fascination and frustration, but I think this piece captures some of the magic of the island itself, the highs and the lows.  I doubt anyone outside of the original bunch has listened to this piece, but I still feel pretty good about it.  It's a slice of my life, circa 2008, when my now-wife and I were still getting to know each other.  The fact that she didn't think the enterprise was insane should be some kind of proof-positive that we were meant to be.  (Interestingly, Mark and Nada are also now married)
